Since 1839, Corbin Russwin has been a leader in high-quality commercial grade hardware targeted at commercial and institutional facilities. The company offers ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 mortise locks, cylindrical locks, exit devices, door control, high security key systems and electromechanical and access control hardware.

The company's story began when Henry Russell and Cornelius Erwin began manufacturing plate locks. In 1902, their company merged with P. and F. Corbin, originally founded in 1849 by Philip and Frank Corbin and Ed Doen, to form The American Hardware Corporation.

After a series of acquisitions, in 1964 American Hardware was acquired by the Emhart Corporation. Later, Black and Decker purchased the company and combined the Corbin and Russwin brands to form Corbin Russwin.

Corbin Russwin has its manufacturing facility in Berlin, Connecticut. Corbin Russwin is one of 20 brands represented by ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions, a North American operating unit of ASSA ABLOY. ASSA ABLOY is the global leader in door opening solutions, dedicated to satisfying end-user needs for security, safety and convenience.
